Mode-Profile... Linda Kanyo

LINDA KANYO

1. What have you learned from modeling?

My number one lesson was probably to look at everything in a more positive way. Modeling has taught me to enjoy and appreciate every minute of every day. Of course the last minute packing goes hand in hand with that, it's a skill I've perfected.

2. What was it like shooting the editorial for the September issue of Laha Magazine?

It was challenging yet a beautiful experience all at the same time. Challenging because the right pictures don't come so easy, you have to focus on every detail but beautiful since I got to wear all the seasons latest couture pieces all the way from Dior to Versace to Chanel. The clothes really manage to set the feel for the shoot.

3. How has modeling affected your personal life?

In lots of ways. I gave up a big part of my life because I believe you have to be all in it to get to where you want to go. Today I know I'd give up anything in a heartbeat for this career and I would never regret it. I don't have much time available but for the important things and people I always find time. I always find myself at home Skyping my mom for hours. It never stopped a relationship because the people who understand will stay if efforts go both ways. I have met a lot of girls who still lead a normal life outside of modeling.

4. What's the best advice Mode ever gave you?

To relax. It's probably one of my biggest flaws. I like to get very emotional over nothing at times but I like to convince myself that it's just a girl thing. Its why I have Michael and Cammielle to pull me back to earth.

5. What are your goals for modeling in the future?

There are so many things I want to achieve in this business. Let's start with a prestigious cover.. Vogue of course would be nice. Who knows maybe one day I'll be walking the Victoria's Secret runway but I know I'll never have enough once you aim high you want to keep climbing. It's addicting.

6. What's your favorite part of being with Mode Models?

My lovely agents. They truly are mother agents, they're there for me the second I need them. I can count on them for whatever whenever and that is really important to have as a model, times can get lonely or frustrating and it's always great to have someone who helps you get back up or even to share successes with. I wouldn't have it any other way.
